Online gambling in USA still on the radar for Party Gaming 20060804 E-mail
Friday, 04 August 2006
Online gambling discussions in the USA haven't dampened Party Gaming's plans to entertain America!Whatever the House had to say about online gambling legislation hasn't dampened Party Gaming's determination to entertain America. Experts are divided on the issue: some see no chance of the Senate giving the online gambling bill their attention or their vote, while others are screaming from the rooftops that the Armageddon of Internet Gaming is upon us.

As far as Party Gaming (the group that owns Party Poker, Party Casino and Party Bingo) is concerned, politics and gambling will have to agree to disagree. At least until any gambling laws are actually passed and signed by the President.

Even though the Senate could soon ratify the House's decision, and the BeonSports debacle shocked casino executives everywhere, the only plans Party Gaming are willing to alter are their travel itineraries. Their marketing and advertising strategies still include a strong focus on a USA online gambling audience, with a focus on brand building for Party Casino.

Online gambling votes go to Hillary Clinton for President 20060717 E-mail
Monday, 17 July 2006
Online gambling bets are flying in - will Hillary Clinton be the next president of the USA?Whether you love or loathe Hillary Clinton, online gambling odds show that internet gamblers fancy her as the It Girl come 2008. Not great news for constantly defeated (though now a little older, wiser and bearded) democratic hopeful Al Gore. He had probably pinned all his hopes on taking a back seat for 8 years while George Bush did his best in the oval office.

The problem he faces now is that the American public want to see a 180 degree shift in the leadership of their country when they next go to the polls. And though Gore is definitely not Bush, it's difficult to be any more different than Mrs Clinton. Online gambling odds tip her as the favorite to put her hand on the Bible as the next US president in 2008 - and she may just pull it off.

Online gambling sports bets for Wimbledon favor Federer 20060627 E-mail
Tuesday, 27 June 2006
Roger Federer is the online gambling sportsbetting favorite to win the Wimbledon tennis championship title in 2006!Wimbledon is all about the best of the tennis best playing for the most important title of the year. But as far as online gambling bets go, Roger Federer can't lose. The biggest tennis championship of 2006 is already drawing massive crowds, despite some of the matches being called off for rain. And the competition is drawing equal amounts of interest at online sportsbetting site Sportsbook.com, where punters are betting in droves that Federer will win his fourth Wimbledon title in a row.

Federer is an easy favorite at some decent odds: 3 to 1 at the moment. Maria Sharapova is the hot women's tennis favorite at odds of 5:2, even though she's only fourth seeded and went down in flames last year to female tennis sensation Venus Williams. Some die-hard patriots don't care what Federer's chances of winning the tournament are - they're backing the US hopeful Andy Roddick with everything they've got at Sportsbook.com, at odds of 6:1. Roddick and Federer have gone head to head before in the last two Wimbledon tennis finals but Roddick got thrashed by the Swiss sportsman, who only lost a single set to poor Andy.

USA hogs online gambling bets in Soccer World Cup 20060612 E-mail
Monday, 12 June 2006
Americans who love soccer will love a bit of online gambling on Team USA at Bodog Online Sportsbook!World Cup soccer fever is hotter than ever! Sports fans are glued to their TV screens and Bodog Online Sportsbook is taking online gambling bets galore - mostly in favor of Team USA! Bodog's laying odds on a list of props wagers that mainly revolve around the American soccer team, who are deseparately trying to edge their way into one of the world's biggest sports. Partly because Americans love any game that involves a ball and a referee - but mostly because this is one sport that they don't dominate. Yet.

The FIFA 2006 Soccer World Cup in Germany is just a little bit bigger and more important than the 'World Series' of baseball that Americans lay claim to. Ironically, the 'world series' actually only includes American states and American athletes. The soccer World Cup is an entirely different affair. It's a truly international event with global teams and a global audience numbering in the hundreds of millions. Just about every country on earth will receive satellite transmissions of the games and broadcast it to their eager citizens in a wave of sports fanaticism and patriotism matched only by the Olympics.

US land-based casinos support online gambling 20060529 E-mail
Monday, 29 May 2006
US land-based casinos welcome the online gambling legislation currently being debated - they want to get in on the action! If the online gambling industry has anything to worry about, it isn't legislation, it's regulation. When it comes to budget, branding, credibility and loyalty, online casinos have a long way to go if they want to be on a level playing field with land-based casinos and gambling giants like MGM Grand, Mirage and Harrahs. Imagine the power a multi-billion dollar budget will yield if Trump had to go online. Or the Bellagio. Instantly, online gambling customers would trust the casino. They'd immediately tie into the offline loyalty system and benefit from any existing relationships they've had with the land-based casinos in pre-internet years. It'll all be one experience for the player. If they don't feel like driving down to the Taj Mahal, just log into the online casino version.

Online casinos have known and feared this since the earliest talk of legislation cropped up. They'd much rather have online gambling outlawed than face the wrath of a Vegas-funded marketing strategy. And that's assuming that the online casinos we know today will even be granted a license. If legislation dictates that only a fixed number of online casino licenses are issued, who would you imagine that the US government would favor? An offline casino brand that has proved itself and, more importantly, paid tax for decades - or an online outfit headquartered out of an offshore island that has continued to prosper from American citizens, regardless of the USA's opinion on the matter? It's because of their unbeatable budget, brand recognition and market share that the offline casinos are keen to see online gambling legislation ushered in as soon as possible!

American Idol online gambling bets point to McPhee to win 20060522 E-mail
Monday, 22 May 2006
Katharine McPhee could still walk away with the title in American Idol 2006, according to online gambling bets at Sportsbook.com!Though Hicks is the favorite to win the American Idol crown on Wednesday, more online gambling money is on McPhee! Believe it or not, the Idol finale could really go either way. While Taylor Hicks has the charm, voice and personality to walk off the winner, McPhee has a good enough sound and more than enough fans to dig her heels in until the final vote is in.

More importantly, while the calculated odds at online sportsbetting site Sportsbook.com make Hicks an almost sure thing, McPhee has a higher percentage of bets in her favor. What this means in plain English is that the THEORY is that Hicks will win the competition but the REALITY is that McPhee has a bigger following, more votes and just as good a chance of snapping up the American Idol title during the live finale show on Wednesday.
