 We've all seen him strut his stuff at your favorite casino. He walks up to the table, throws down a wad of cash and starts playing immediately. Even if you're in the middle of a blackjack shoe, he doesn't bother to ask your permission to join the game. He's there to beat the house, one on one. He gambles to win and if he's lucky, he might have even won a poker tournament or two. At the end of the day, he's the self-proclaimed best gambler in town and he'll do whatever it takes to prove it.If this sounds like someone you know - or perhaps even like YOU - here's Mr Bigshot's chance to put his money where his mouth is. Spike TV is about to launch a brand new reality TV series called King of Vegas. And it's time for smooth talking cardsharks, up-and-coming amateurs and so-called professionals to take on the best and go big or go home! This may appear to be yet another round of poker mish mash with yet another set of rules, its very own championship bracelet and briefcase of cash. But though the prize money is certainly here, this isn't any ordinary gambling competition. The gambler who walks away with the King of Vegas crown will need to be a jack of all games and a master of every single one of them!  To be able to enter King of Vegas, potential contestants had to demonstrate a clear ability to play and win (confidently) across the entire gambling spectrum of games requiring skill: blackjack, baccarat, roulette, craps, and poker - including Caribbean Stud, Red Dog, Pai Gow and of course, Texas Hold 'em. Now being the champion of poker - even World Champion - is one thing. But you'll go a long way to find a gambler who has what it takes to master all the major casino table games with equal success. Spike TV managed to find TWELVE!The ten weekly King of Vegas TV episodes will feature a full hour of head-to-head gambling combat at its betting best. Amateurs and professionals will battle it out with all the blood, sweat and tears that come with any major prize fight. Nine episodes of gambling adrenalin will culminate in the no-second-place TV finale, where - like in life - winner takes all. Once the last cards have been dealt and the dueling dust has settled, the best gambler on earth will go home with 1 Million Dollars. The loser will leave with nothing but the shirt on his back and a lifelong memory of getting beat on international television! But anyone who survives this competition needs more than a decent background in casino games and gambling.  Because, true to reality TV tradition, you can be sure that those who've been selected to play in the $1 Million competition will deliver entertainment value second to none. The only other requirement (besides all-round gambling proficiency) listed by the producers for would-be Kings of Vegas: a strong personality. We've all seen Survivor too many times to know that the chances of a nice guy next door going home with the million bucks are about a hundred million to one. Produced by Wayne Allen Root and two other producers of American Idol, King of Vegas will feature the perfect combination of Vegas glitz, TV suspense and hardcore gambling reality. The qualifying rounds for King of Vegas were held in November in four major US states: Las Vegas (Nevada), Atlantic City (New Jersey), Chicago (Illinois) and Los Angeles (Calirfornia). The actual series is currently filming at a top-secret location in Vegas and insider reports have revealed that we're in for the cut-throat casino competition of the century. Don't expect any Mr Nice Guys when there's seven-figure stakes on the table!Even though some heavyweight professionals are said to be included, word from the King of Vegas set is that unknown amateurs stand just as good a chance at getting their hands on the grand prize. While each player's skill may have earned them a seat at the table, the ultimate winner is going to need strategic strength, a steel poker face and a good dose of at-the-table luck to master the tournament and fly home with the million dollar King of Vegas title under their belt.  Presented by well-known boxing expert and TV sports commentator Max Kellerman, the stakes for the King of Vegas contestants have never been higher. Amateurs will be playing against some of the best in the business. They'll need to be aggressive and adapt quickly under pressure. The pros on the other hand will need to deal with the potential fallout of losing to a beginner. And all of this with $1 Million riding on every decision.King of Vegas is scheduled to air on Spike TV on Tuesdays at 10pm.
